The Kingdoms of Dargon and Rigon make uneasy neighbours these days…
The power-hungry Prince of Dargon has arranged himself a marriage to the good-hearted Princess of Rigon, in order to gain enough support to usurp his father.

Ivan, the soon-to-be High Lord of Gent, must undertake the task of seeing those who oppose the Prince into a friendly alliance with the King of Rigon - in order to curb the Prince and his warmongering.

Part of the task involves maneuvering the Princess of Rigon away from the Prince… but Ivan soon finds himself in love with the Princess… and getting an alliance with the King of Rigon becomes more about rescuing the Princess from her impending marriage to the Prince than anything else.
As Ivan tries to reach his objectives, his cousin Luther, has a mind of his own. Harbouring long-standing resentment for Ivan, he seeks a way to undermine him.
Meanwhile, the Prince has his own idea of how to bring Ivan down. In fact, the Prince has an idea of how to wreak havoc on the entire Kingdom in order to tear his father off the throne and take the throne for himself. The Prince, wants to Summon the Guarda.
Mythological beasts of war, the tale of the Guarda is common and familiar folklore told throughout the land - but no-one really believes they’re real… do they?
In amidst the politics of treason, enemies and allies, love can be a strategy.
In amidst trying times, brotherly camaraderie holds true and steadfast.

Introducing,

The Crossing Gate

, by Asiel R. Lavie

The only thing standing between Lenora and the third ID line on her wrist, a marker of her transition from juvenile to adult phase, is The Crossing Gate.
Beginning with birth, all citizens in the Kingdom of Elpax must walk through the mysterious Crossing Gate thrice in their lives. The final life phase, adulthood, exposes the citizens to hideous realities like sin-spots that tarnish their bodies every time they deviate from the law. In this strange world, the consequences of being a bearer of sin-spots range from retribution to downright execution of the sinner.
Seventeen-year-old Lenora Evgenís has a deep-rooted fear of adulthood and hence, becomes dizzy and temporarily incapacitated every time the Crossing nears. To soothe her anxiety, she searches for information about adulthood and sin-spots. But all she learns is that curiosity is a sin. The gravity of the situation keeps increasing with every futile attempt. If she doesn’t find what she’s looking for and refuses to cross, Prince Thaddeus will never hesitate to assume she is rebelling, and this will ruin her life and her entire family.
